Popular dessert restaurant Swensen's have launched TabSquare’s SmartTab eMenu System in their Singapore stores. A well-established franchise from San Francisco, Swensen's has taken Singapore by storm since it launched there in 1979. It has now partnered with TabSquare to streamline operations, save labour costs, boost average cover values and speed up table turns.
TabSquare, who have been in on the ground floor of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven F&B solutions since 2012, offer Swensen's the perfect solution for their digital service model. Amongst other benefits, SmartTab helps neutralise the increasing wait staff rates that are affecting casual dining outlets such as Swensen's.
The move to digital menus and ordering will also help Swensen's collect valuable customer data that will help them better understand and address the demands of modern tech-savvy customers.
Tabsquare’s iPad restaurant ordering system, SmartTab, launched in the first Swensen's restaurant on 3 April and will be rolled out to the remaining 20 outlets over the next six months. The existing Oracle Micros POS System has been integrated seamlessly into the TabSquare implementation.
The Swenson's-TabSquare partnership has produced positive results already, although it is still too soon for official numbers. Feedback shows that the new AI-powered technology is being adopted positively by Swensen's staff, who prefer the benefits it offers over the previous ‘old school’ restaurant processes like paper menus and face-to-face ordering.
Singaporeans are already very familiar with emenus, due to their widespread uptake in the country, and are expected to adapt quickly to Swensens’ move to SmartTab.
